Freelance Designer & Art Director Work on-site and off for various clients and consumer magazines. Sustain product’s branding, expand use of illustration and photography. Involved in brainstorming with editors, writers, reporters and entrepreneurs on content and visual impact. Some web experience.

New York Times • Designer & Art Director Produce Special Sections of the paper. Commission illustration and select photography. Work independently executing strong, timely layouts.  (Nov. 2006—Nov. 2007) Design custom sections of the Times for 30 global partners in a fast-paced department. (Nov. 2007—Nov. 2010)
Develop and design prototype pages as well as regularly offered full-page content for the NYT Syndicate. (Nov. 2010—2014)

Wall Street Journal • Weekend Journal Art Director Design and layout weekly lifestyle section in QPS including features, departments and special sections. Responsible for conceptualization and assignment of illustration and photography. Confer with editors on story ideas and offer visual solutions. Able to shift gears quickly, delegate work when necessary, meet tight deadlines.  (June 1999—June 2005)

Psychology Today Magazine • Art Director Responsible for all art, design and production of the magazine. Select and hire photographers and models for photoshoots. Manage art department, photo editors and art assistants. Collaborate with editor on overall feel of magazine. Direct illustrators’ assignments from concept to completion.
